I am also trying my hand at fiction--tougher than it sounds. Here is a summary of my first three novels, very much works in progress.
ACROSS THE GREAT DIVIDE is one of several novels that I am currently writing. It tells the story of Percival Milne, a boy who is average in every way, except ambition. Percival is too small to be an athlete, too normal to excel in school, too plain to capture the eye of Laurel Swain, the beauty of Siwanoy High School, and the girl friend of A.J. Hanover, who has every gift that God could bestow--handsom, athletic and... oh yes... rich. Percival is the butt of every prank of Billy Johnson, A.J.'s pal, and mad at God for putting him in this impossible situation. Running away from it all, Percival meets a stranger and has a strange--out-of-body--experience, where he finds out who he really is. Percival suddenly sees his life in a different way... and he emerges as a man on a mission, desperate to change the course of those he now sees in a whole new light.
THICKER THAN WATER is the first in a series, The Damian Chronicles, about the story of an extraordinary young man named Victor Damian who wants to be a "normal" high school student in the elIte, if out of the way Franklin Academy. Victor is tall, good looking, smart and athletic, but Victor is banned by the elders of his family from sports and discouraged from most social interaction with the others at school. His straight-laced brother, Valiant, watches over him like a hawk and tells Victor that he will understand better when he reaches 16 and goes throught the "Ceremony." Victor is tired of waiting and ready to take matters in his own hands, when the Ceremony reveals a family secret that will alter Victor's plans forever and a family tragedy puts Victor in the role of the family's savior.
